1st Intel Atom Powered Android Mobile: LAVA XOLO

LAVA Mobiles from India has got the credit for launching World’s first Intel Medfield powered smartphones XOLO X900. It is powered with Intel’s Medfield Atom processor which is the most power efficient devices from Intel. Medfield Atom processors based device is a benchmark for the further design and development of Intel’s Atom based devices. Where the other manufacturers are attached to ARM Chip in mobile now the new intel Atom has to find a place to compete ARM.

Coming back to the XOLO 900 the device is  is equipped with Atom Z2460 SoC with single-core 1.6 GHz processor with Hyper Threading (Intel Patented), Thus the device is expected to be fast enough for mobile to give a Feel Good  smile to its users.

This device has got a 400 MHz Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), support for OpenGL ES 2.0 and Open VG. Thus HD and 3D gaming on mobile is expected to touch a new height with this.

It has a inbuilt RAM of 1 GB (a great amount of RAM as most of the devices limits it max to 512 MB) with a internal storage capacity of 16 GB. 

This has a 4.03” screen with 16M Colors and  1024×600 display resolution.

The two cameras in the device one with 8MP rear-facing camera capable of 1080p Full HD video recording and another with 1.3MP front facing camera to act as webcam. The device imaging core has support up to 240MP/S thus in burst Mode 10 Pictures can be captured in a second.

The good thing that the integrated browser supports latest HTML5.

This has a HSPA+ Network Support so the limits are  21 Mbps DL and 5.7 Mbps UL connectivity.

The device has Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS which can be upgraded to android 4.0.

While this device is launched in India It is expected a similar more powerful handsets may be coming soon later in this year.
